• Maximum weight is 500 pound per kayak.
• Guests must be able to paddle and follow guide instructions
• This tour is not recommended for pregnant guests or individuals with serious back, neck, or mobility issues

Weather & Bioluminescence Notice
Bioluminescence is a natural phenomenon, and visibility may vary depending on:
• Moon phase
• Weather conditions
• Water clarity
• Natural environmental changesWhile Mosquito Bay is the brightest bioluminescent bay in the world, brightness levels can change from night to night.
Tours operate rain or shine unless conditions are unsafe. Light rain does not affect the experience.
Refunds are not issued due to variations in bioluminescence visibility, as this is a natural occurrence beyond our control.
By booking this tour, guests acknowledge that bioluminescence visibility varies naturally and is not guaranteed.
What to Expect During the Tour
Your adventure begins with a short safety briefing before entering the water.
Guests will paddle through Mosquito Bay, home to millions of microscopic organisms called dinoflagellates, which glow when the water is disturbed.
Each paddle stroke creates a trail of beautiful glowing blue light, making this one of the most unique natural experiences in Puerto Rico.

• Conservation efforts that protect this natural wonderThis is a nature-based experience, so every night in the bay can be slightly different.

Our 10 Rules to ensure the safety and enjoyment of your tour:
Listen to your tour guide: Follow their instructions for a smooth and safe experience.
Wear appropriate safety gear: Life jackets and helmets are provided for your protection—wear them at all times.
Respect wildlife: Observe animals from a distance and refrain from feeding or touching them.
Stay with the group: Stick together with your tour companions to ensure no one gets lost.
Be mindful of weather conditions: Prepare for changes in weather and follow the guide’s advice regarding safety protocols.
Follow Route: Clients must dispose of any trash or waste in designated areas and refrain from littering in the bio bay or surrounding environment.
No Swimming: Swimming in the bio bay is not permitted due to safety reasons and to preserve the natural habitat. Clients must remain in their kayaks at all times.
Stay Calm: In the event of unexpected circumstances such as capsizing or encountering wildlife, clients must remain calm and follow the guide’s instructions for a safe resolution.
Dress Appropriately: Clients should wear appropriate clothing and footwear suitable for kayaking, including swimwear, rash guards, and water shoes.
Enjoy responsibly: Have fun, but remember to respect the environment and fellow tour participants for a memorable experience.
If you need to catch the late ferry back to the main island of Puerto Rico Monday-Friday, you must book the 7:00 PM tour. Otherwise, you’ll have to stay in Vieques overnight. (Saturday and Sunday there is no late ferry back)

How timing is calculated: All timeframes are based on the scheduled check-in time for your tour and local time in Vieques, Puerto Rico (AST).

bookings (1–10 guests)48 hours or more before the tour: Full refund or free reschedule.
Between 48 and 24 hours before the tour: 50% refund; rescheduling based on availability.
Less than 24 hours before the tour: Non-refundable; rescheduling may be offered at management’s discretion.
No-shows: No refund and no reschedule (no exceptions).
B) Group bookings (10+ guests)
7 days or more before the tour date: Full refund or free reschedule.
Less than 7 days before the tour date: Non-refundable; rescheduling may be offered at management’s discretion and subject to availability.
This 7-day group policy supersedes the standard 48/24-hour timeline above.
C) Weather & safety
If we cancel due to weather or conditions beyond our control, you may reschedule or receive a full refund. Determinations about weather/safety cancellations are made by Mosquito Biobay Tours to protect guest safety and tour quality.
D) Minimum participant requirement
Our tours require a minimum of 10 confirmed participants to operate. If the minimum is not met, we may reschedule your tour to another available date/time or offer an alternative experience, depending on availability. We will notify you in advance if an adjustment is needed.
E) Ferry tickets
Guests are responsible for securing ferry tickets. We are not responsible if you are unable to obtain ferry tickets; please secure them before booking with us.
F) Refund method
Approved refunds are issued to the original form of payment. Processing times may vary depending on your bank or card issuer.
